Welcome to the God's Garden! Lets get signed in.
It was so exciting to see everyone back this year for VBS and we got to make some new friends too.
Stories With Aunt Barbara
Today Aunt Barbara told us the story of creation. We learned how God made the heavens and the earth and everything in them, even me and you. We got to hear how special we are, because God took such special care in putting us together. Each one of us are unique, but we have been made in the image of God. We have such a wonderful God.
God's Garden Snacks! Mmmmmmm
We got to make ants on a log with Mrs. Corder. We took celery, put peanut butter on it, and then placed all of our little ants (raisins) on the celery log. We made ants on a log, because God made them too and they are very special. Each ant has a special job and they all work together to help the colony. Ants are very strong too. They can lift 10 to 20 times their own weight.
God's Garden Crafts
Mrs. Tasha helped us make two of God's wonderful creatures at craft time. We got to choose between a ladybug clip and a buttery fly magnet. Most of the ladybugs we have around here, have bright red coloring and little black spots. They help keep the plant eating bugs out of our garden. Butterflies are beautiful creators, but they don't start out that way. They start out as caterpillars, just crawling around. Then they wrap themselves up and undergo a beautiful transformation. They then take to the skies with their beautiful wings.
The Nature Nugget
Monday evening we had a wonderful guest, who brought some really hard workers. We got to meet Mr. Lee Menius the bee keeper and some of his friends. Mr. Lee Menius told us how bees help everything grow by going from flower to flower and getting nectar which helps pollinate the vegetables, fruits, nuts, and flower. Then they take the nectar back to the hive and store it there for there family. He showed us his special face cover to keep him safe when working with the bees and his smoker which helps calm the bees down. You can learn more about being a bee keeper here. Thank you Mr. Lee Menius
